BSHP: A logo refresh

Since joining in a media partnership with Hospital Pharmacy Europe, and realising the current logo needed to be updated, the committee agreed to commission a new version in various digital formats to align more with the ever changing technical age.

Keeping the old woodcut logo, in use since 1967, we asked artist and ethnobotanist Harriet Gendall to propose some light refreshments.

After a few rounds of voting, we settled on a light refresh in various black and white versions that can be adapted to digital and print purposes. See the menu bar above, for the new version.

The original woodcut has been in use since our founding in 1967 (see the image below), where it was used on the very first Pharmaceutical Historian. Stock image libraries claim that the image is taken from "Master Stephan's book on chess", Lübeck, circa 1480, but it is not clear if this is accurate. Any pointers appreciated about where the original came from!
