Our events programme covers a wide range of pharmacy history topics.  We hold 3 evening meetings each year, and annual conference, a summer visit, and a joint meeting with a School of Pharmacy.  Click on an event below to find out more.
 
ANNUAL CONFERENCE, YEW LODGE HOTEL, KEGWORTH

Join us in the East Midlands for our annual conference at the Best Western Yew Lodge Hotel. Our conference themes embrace the local - Boots - and the historical - the 400th anniversary of the London Pharmacopoiea.

The programme includes short members' papers, the Burnby Memorial Bursary talk, and a visit to the Boots Archive(Saturday afternoon). We're also delighted to welcome guest speakers Professor John Beckett and Dr Anna Greenwood (Nottingham University) to speak on different aspects of Boots' history, and Patrick Chiu from the Hong Kong Pharmacy History Society to talk about the territory's colonial pharmacy history.

The full conference package for BSHP members is priced at £300 and includes all meals and bed & breakfast accommodation. Non-resident and day rates are also available.  Students can register to attend the lecture sessions free of charge.

Our hotel is close to the historic cities of Nottingham and Derby, and only 30 minutes from the National Forest, or an hour from Chatsworth House and the Peak District.  The hotel’s leisure club and spa will be available to resident delegates.
