Our events programme covers a wide range of pharmacy history topics.  We hold 3 evening meetings each year, and annual conference, a summer visit, and a joint meeting with a School of Pharmacy.  Click on an event below to find out more.

For the third time, BSHP and the Faculty for the History & Philosophy of Medicine & Pharmacy are running a 3 day course exploring the history of pharmacy and and pharmaceutical industry.  It's hosted by the Wellcome Library, Royal College of Physicians, and Apothecaries' Hall, with an additional trip to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Museum. Sessions include the history of the laboratory, using prescription registers as historical sources, materia medica & the British empire, delftware drug jars, and the Apothecaries' manufacturing trade, with speakers including as Tilli Tansey, Pratik Chakrabati and Anna Marie Roos.  Alongside lectures, there are collections-based sessions at all 3 venues and tours of the medicinal garden at the RCP and the museum at the RPS.

Full price 3 day attendance is £240, with student fees £140. You can also opt into single day attendance.
