No, anyone with an interest in pharmacy history is very welcome to join BSHP. Some of our members are practising pharmacists, some are retired pharmacists, but many have other backgrounds.

Do I have to be an historian to join BSHP?
No, anyone with an interest in pharmacy history is very welcome to join BSHP. A few of our members are professional historians, but the majority are simply keen to find out more.

I don't live in Britain. Is BSHP for me?
We have a number of overseas members. All members receive the Pharmaceutical Historian which from later in 2017 will be available online, and are welcome to join us at events if they are in Britain. You can also join our community on Facebook and Twitter.

I'd like to attend one of your events. How do I book a place?

How do I go about valuing or selling historical pharmacy items?
The RPS Museum have an information sheet about selling and valuing objects, including contact details for specialised dealers. Please contact them at museum@rpharms.com to obtain the most up-to-date sheet.

I'm researching my family history and/or the history of a pharmacy premises. Can you help me?
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society Museum offers a chargeable people and premises research service, based on the complete listings and Registers compiled by the Society since its foundation in 1841.

Are there any pharmacy museums that I could visit in Britain?
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society Museum is most obvious recommendation but there are lots of other museums that hold pharmacy material.
